Chief of Staff
Doug is proud to serve as Councilwoman Rodriguez's Chief of Staff and support her team in their service to the people of the 7th District of the City of Los Angeles.
Prior to joining the Councilwoman's team, Doug served Los Angeles' 12th District, first as Legislative Deputy to Councilmember Greig Smith and then as Chief Legislative Deputy and Senior Advisor to Councilmember Mitchell Englander.
Although Doug is a native San Diegan, Los Angeles has been home for the past two decades. He graduated from USC's Price School of Public Policy and serves on the Price School's Alumni Association Board of Directors. Doug lives with his wife and daughter in the Castle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Deputy Chief of Staff
Christine, a resident of the Seventh District, is proud to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez Office, Christine served in the administration of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. During her tenure in the Office of the Mayor, she served as Director of Domestic Violence Programs and Services in the in the Mayor’s Office of Public Safety, overseeing seeing the City’s Domestic Abuse Response Teams and also in the Mayor’s Office of City Services where she focused on policy and program development and outreach, working closely with the Los Angeles Public Library, the Department of Cultural Affairs, El Pueblo and the Department of Aging.
Christine also served the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, Southern California Associations of Governments, the Campaign for College Opportunity, the Office of Los Angeles then-City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, and Los Angeles City Councilwoman Wendy Greuel.
She is an advocate of social justice, avid reader, and loves the unique communities and diverse cultures that enrich Los Angeles. Christine is also actively involved in the Armenian community of Greater Los Angeles and has served and continues to serve on multiple boards. Christine holds an Executive Master's Degree in Leadership from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the California State University Northridge. A Chicago native, but Angeleno at heart, she resides in the Seventh District with her family.

Tran serves as the Director of Communications for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. She is the primary contact to reporters and anyone seeking public information regarding the Office of Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and the Seventh Council District.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez’s office, Tran served as an aide to LA City Councilmember David Ryu and worked as a community organizer for leading Asian Pacific American advocacy organizations. In these capacities, she managed campaigns and outreach programs for issues related to immigration, health care, and LGBT rights.
Tran is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and is a native of the San Fernando Valley. She is a proud member of #TeamMRod’s tennis league and enjoys exploring the District’s various parks.

Humberto serves as the Planning Director for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
In this capacity, Humberto oversees current development, land use planning and transportation planning initiatives in the 7th Council District.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez's Office, Humberto worked for numerous agencies such as the City of Los Angeles, City of Baldwin Park, City of Arcadia, Metro, City of La Verne and the City of Bellflower. Most recently, Humberto was the Senior Planner with the City of San Fernando where he functioned as the Chief Planning Official, overseeing all development projects and long range planning efforts within the City.
Humberto received his Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Urban Studies and Planning from California State University, Northridge as well as a Bachelors of Arts from California State University, Northridge in Urban Studies and Planning. Humberto is a native of North East Los Angeles. However, he currently calls the North East San Fernando Valley home.

Paola serves as the Planning Deputy for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
In this capacity, she supports land use and housing policy initiatives for the Office of Councilwoman Rodriguez.
Before joining the council office, Paola was an Associate Planner at MIG, a southern California based consulting firm, specializing in long-range planning and community engagement. In that role, she authored land use plans for various municipalities within Los Angeles County. She also designed and managed the community input process for local land use projects and statewide planning policy for a variety of public agencies.
Paola holds a BA in International Development from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs.

Felicia serves as a Legislative Deputy for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. She advises the Councilwoman in her role as Chair of the Information Technology and General Services Committee. Felicia focuses on public safety, emergency preparedness, and public works matters.
Prior to joining the Councilwoman’s team, Felicia served as a Budget Analyst in the Office of the City Administrative Officer and worked on public works and public safety assignments.
A graduate from the University of California, San Diego, Felicia successfully completed an economics degree while competing as a member on the NCAA Women’s Water Polo team. Felicia began her City career as a lifeguard for her hometown pool in Sylmar, and as a native to the Seventh District, she is proud to continue serving the community she grew up in.

Olivia serves as a Legislative Deputy for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
In this capacity she staffs the Councilwoman on the Council floor and on the Public Works and Gang Reduction Committee.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez’s office Olivia interned for Congressman Adam Schiff and Councilman Tom LaBonge. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, and playing tennis with Team MRod.

Rosie serves as the Receptionist in the City Hall office for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. She is the first point of contact to help and welcome visitors. She is responsible for front desk duties, answering phones, reviewing and distributing correspondence, facilitates with certificate requests and resolutions. She handles all parking requests and manages the day to day functions of the City Hall office.
Rosie brings over 20 years of customer service management experience to the team. She managed and coordinated budgets, sales, staff, and was always available to help customers with all their needs.
Rosie is a lifelong resident of the city of Los Angeles, where she is an active community member and is involved with her children’s educational growth. She lives with her husband of 18 years, Jaime, and her two children, Xavier and Mia-Rose.

Pacoima City Hall
Gabriela Medina is the District Director to Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. She previously served as District Director to US Representative Nanette Diaz Barragán, overseeing the 44th Congressional District including the cities of Walnut Park, South Gate, Lynwood, Compton, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, Willowbrook, Watts, Carson, Wilmington, and San Pedro. After spending some time in Congress, six years with the City of Los Angeles and five years working in the non-profit sector, Gaby understands the multitude of challenges her communities face and how access to local government can lead to opportunities and solution based initiatives.
Under the leadership of Councilman Joe Buscaino, Gabriela was a Field Deputy representing over 80,000 residents in the communities of Wilmington and Harbor City. She championed recreational and commercial development projects that revitalized the conditions of public spaces and promoted accessibility and usage. Gabriela partnered with hundreds of organizations and businesses to ensure resident voices were acknowledged and part of the decision making process in City Hall.
Under her new capacity Gaby looks forward to growing these partnerships and ensuring the communities she represents have access to city resources, directly advancing the opportunities of residents. She is passionate about economic development, the environment, and mentoring young women.
Ms. Medina is a proud daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico and El Salvador. She was born and raised in South Los Angeles, attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and majored in Sociology. She is a member of Lambda Theta Nu, Sorority, Incorporated.

Elly serves as the Office Manager for the Pacoima City Hall office for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
Elly was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and comes from a proud family of public servants. Elly has participated in many civic and community projects including founding Ballet Folklorico Joyas Divinas del Valle with the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Community Police Station and Pacoima Beautiful.
Elly is passionate about creating new opportunities for young people. She devotes much of her personal time to youth and advocacy for foster children and is an active volunteer for the LAPD Cadet youth program. Elly is a proud wife and mother of three.

Susie is the Area Representative of Pacoima for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. She takes care of the day to day concerns in the Pacoima area.
Her background is in community organizing and youth advocacy. Susie is a graduate of Humboldt State University, and was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. In her spare time she enjoys exploring CD7’s best food spots and parks.

CD 7 Strike Team
Michael serves on the CD 7 strike team for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
He is also a Cadet Lieutenant for the LAPD Foothill Division Cadet youth program mentoring over 80 plus cadets. He has volunteered over 9,000 hours of community service over the past 5 years. Michael is currently attending the Police Officer Preparation Program held at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Ahmanson Recruit Training Center and will be receiving his associate's degree in 2018.
As a strike team member he is responsible for monitoring illegal dumping and has a passion for improving the quality of life for his community. Michael enjoys physical fitness activities, competing in time trial races and was born and raised in the Northeast San Fernando Valley.

CD7 Strike Team
Ernesto is a proud member of the Strike Team. He is dedicated to serving our community by helping keep the streets of our neighborhood clean. Ernesto is also inclined in educating our communities on resources such as “My LA 311” that the City provides for bulky items placed on sidewalks or curbs. Ernesto has been serving our community since early 2017.
Before joining the Strike Team, Ernesto has been an outside source to the city with continuous work in graffiti removal and weed abatement in the Northeast San Fernando valley.
Ernesto is a Polytechnic High School graduate and continues to reside in the the Northeast San Fernando Valley with his family.

Sylmar District Office
Sylmar Area Director
Franklin serves as the Sylmar Area Director, serving as the first line of contact for constituents, businesses and organizations seeking assistance from the Councilwoman’s office.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez’s office, Franklin served as a Field Representative for California State Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra and as a Field Deputy for LA City Councilmember Jose Huizar. In these capacities, he was able to build and maintain partnerships within communities to better-combat issues facing his constituents.
Franklin is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and a Sylmar resident. He is a proud benchwarmer for #TeamMRod’s tennis team and loves eating in the District’s various restaurants.

Juan Solorio, Jr
Juan serves as the Area Representative to Mission Hills and North Hills for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
His goal is to connect different stakeholders in order to increase community engagement and civic awareness. Prior to joining the Council District Seven, Juan graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science. At CSULB, Juan held multiple positions within student government and was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Phi National Fraternity, whose philanthropy, Ability First, raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities.
After graduating, Juan interned with San Fernando City Mayor where he assisted in planning the City of San Fernando’s first LGBTQ forum and passing Indigenous People’s Day.
Juan is a born and bred valley resident of Mission Hills. In his free time he enjoys swimming at Hubert H. Humphrey pool in Pacoima, rallying the Chicago Bears to a win, and keeping up to date on local, national and international affairs.

Michelle serves as the Council Aide in Councilwoman Rodriguez's Sylmar office.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Rodriguez's office Michelle served as a Site Coordinator for Mayor Eric Garcetti's Summer Night Lights program whose goal is to reduce gang violence and create safer communities by providing services such as free sports, arts and recreational activities, resource fairs, health screenings, workshops, jobs, and connections to resources that residents can utilize year round. She was also a Teen Coordinator for San Fernando's Boys and Girls Club where she facilitated leadership workshops to make our teens leaders in our communities.

Sunland-Tujunga District Office
Eve is the Area Director for Sunland-Tujunga, Shadow Hills, and La Tuna Canyon. She handles constituent calls, builds community relationships, and also works on Homelessness, Transportation, and Disaster Preparedness issues.
She worked in the private sector for 15 years, for companies such as Equifax, Clear Channel, and Ecoproducts. She then changed career paths into the field of education, completing the teacher training program at CU Boulder and working as a nanny in a private residence. In the past couple of years, Eve served on the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council and was appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti to serve on the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners,
Eve holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Whittier College and a M.A. in English Literature from Claremont Graduate University. She lives with her family in Sunland and they enjoy exploring the beautiful wilderness surrounding our city.

Council Aide, Special Events Coordinator
Arsen serves as a council aide, special events coordinator and in house calligrapher to Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. As a council aide he works with constituents, government agencies, local non-profit organizations, businesses, and neighborhood groups to obtain safer communities, cleaner streets, and overall improvements to quality of life in Sunland/Tujunga. He is also the lead point person for all CD7 special events and work directly with all city departments that are involved in making special events safe, secure and with minimal impact to the surrounding communities. Lastly he is the in-house calligrapher and makes handmade Los Angeles City proclamations to honor citizens for their hard work or congratulate a newlywed or a new born baby.
Prior to joining TeamMRod, Arsen served as a council aide, special events coordinator and graphic designer to then Councilmember Eric Garcetti from 2003 until 2013 and continued with him as the Mayor's office as his calligrapher from 2013 to 2017.
Arsen grew up in East Hollywood, but currently lives in Van Nuys with his wife Ripsime and their two boys, Sonny and Eric. Arsen studies the art of bonsai, oil painting and building and flying model helicopters.

Alejandro serves as a Council Aide for Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. In this capacity, he serves as a caseworker for all district offices and assists with special projects.
Prior to joining Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez’s office, Alejandro served on Raul Bocanegra’s Campaign for California State Assembly in 2016 and Monica Rodriguez’s Campaign for Los Angeles City Council in 2017. This opportunity allowed him to understand constituent concerns in the Northeast San Fernando Valley.
Alejandro is a graduate of California State University, Northridge where he received a B.A. degree in Psychology and Master of Public Administration.
