Mission Hills, named for the Spanish Mission San Fernando Rey de España, is home to some of the most historic sites in San Fernando Valley. Andrés Pico Adobe, built in 1834, is the oldest residence in the San Fernando Valley, and the second oldest residence in Los Angeles. Brand Park, also called Memory Garden, is a part of the original land grant of Mission San Fernando Rey de España, and the colorful and picturesque atmosphere of the early California missions is preserved in Memory Garden. Memory Garden is a popular Valley destination for weddings and quinceañeras. Nearby is the San Fernando Mission Cemetery, one of the oldest active cemeteries in the San Fernando Valley.
